So I finally beat Assassin’s Creed I. (II is on its way; ciao Ezzi.) Unbelievable. In an abstracted sense, the way I play these games seems to let them become some sort of markers in my life. (Like with FFIX, I started in 2001, continued in 2006, then saw the ending only in 2008) With AC, I’ve wanted to play it wayyy back when they first announced it, can’t remember when. Around or before 2005 I think. I only got a chance to play it in Dec. 2008. I seldom play, so I played little by little along the way and finished it in 2010.
The ending was very poignant AUUUUGGGG D’:
Didn’t Al Mualim literally bring those kids up? Seriously, for goodness’ sake. The words that Alty speak! Imagine how devastating it must be to have what one has believed in and worked for fall apart like that. I really like the dialogues in this game. Very sharp, very poignant, very thought-provoking.
& Malik srsly. You guys finally stopped being so tsun! [further comments on this matter omitted for discretion]
& of course, AC has the funniest glitches ever:

Here’s my own glitch video (from last summer):
Same scene with alternative angle here, (just to show it’s not what it looks like) *ahem-hem* Mine are nowhere as funny as THIS. Or as risqué as this and this, for goodness sake ; )
My favourite video is one with translations of Arabic phrases Altair speaks during the game. Informative and endearing. And hilarious — the last part is TOTALLY canon.
Sweethearts! What cute little Vikings!
My niece — currently 4 years & 10 months old.
Sister-In-Law: See, darling, I washed your shoes promptly.
Niece: Yes, it is prompt. But it would be more “prompt” if you bought a new pair.

Now where’s my Spanish hunk.
These are short journal entries I’ve jotted down for the past month. I’ve wanted to expand them but there’s really no time, so I’m leaving them as-is.
Last night’s dream:
A photographer was being fussy to his model.
Model: The colour of my hair matches my skin. What else do you want from me?
Photographer: You’re such a monkey. You can’t stuff a monkey into a backpack, can you?
– This might not make much sense here, but at the time I heard it in my dream, I had a laughing fit!
Lab yesterday:
Styrbjorn knows what you’re up to every time.
Guy: *I’m so totally marching in the army right now.*
Girl: * Noooooo…!! ;_;*
First off:
Beren and Luthien, the Taiwanese version!
Long ago in the hidden kingdom she laid her hand in his.
Rumour has it that this video has won the British TV Advertising Awards. In my opinion it may have been nominated, or just selected for screening. I skimmed the official BTAA site but didn’t find it in there. Such a sweet clip nonetheless!
