So I saw Angels & Demons today. Thure Lindhardt is pure love. And yay for Stellan! He had his usual suave aura that I love. Nikolaj was his usual, melancholy self, too! Seeing them on the big screen made me happy.

Yup, apart from the Nordic actors. I rather liked the action scenes! This movie reminded me of my time in Rome. (I was running about with a map with all the churches printed on it, too. Ahh, good times.) Ewan McGregor was lovely, of course. My friend and I agreed that it would be wonderful if the guy swimming in the pool at the beginning of the movie had been Ewan.

I haven’t read the book. According to my friend they changed a whole lot of things (which did not improve the plot at all). The camerlengo was supposed to be a good guy! So readers of the book would probably be put off by the movie ending. Also, the movie!camerlengo’s motives were hard to understand. Did he want to snatch the papacy or what?

My friend and I ate at an Italian restaurant (that suited the location of the film pretty well) for lunch and a Taiwanese restaurant for dinner. I ate an amount of food akin to a bull. Srsly! I haven’t really eaten out for a long long time, (the most was on the street next to school), so I ate whatever I wanted to eat that I usually have no easy access to. Oh my. What indulgence!

A pain to sit through.

PLANARIA

It was not extremely bad, to be honest. The cinematography was ok. The screenplay was marginally tolerable, if you ignore everything Edward says. The acting was so-so; the girl was twitchy and the guy was spastic very stiff, but it may be due to the characterization, apart from the acting. This whole movie was just so long and dull, 10 minutes into it I was impatient for it to end.

Now let’s bring on the snarking: Read at own discretion.
